Overview
The Client, a Michigan based property management firm came to OPTIMAL looking for an Advisor to support their post-close M&A activities relating to their recent acquisition of a ~3,500 unit property management firm.
OPTIMAL first met with the Owner, their Controller, and Appfolio to discuss the migration strategy for the acquired company from QuickBooks Desktop to Appfolio. OPTIMAL held their hand every step of the way, taking the load off their internal team and completing the full migration within 1 week’s time.
Post-migration, we worked on integrating the two businesses more seamlessly within Appfolio, properly setting up corporate books for the combined entity and cleaning their current portfolio to ensure the diagnostics screen was error-free, allowing them to maintain their books on an ongoing basis without issue. During the engagement, we met with the Client on an every other day basis and were in constant communication to ensure the process was a smooth one. Given their positive experience, the Client decided to retain us for ongoing support with bill entry, bank reconciliations for 100+ bank accounts, and financial reporting preparation.
With OPTIMAL Advisory, the Client was able to stabilize their newly acquired company and fold it into their current operation within just 1.5 months, all while presenting confidence to their new employees.
